Bechtel is designing, constructing and commissioning the world's largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington state. The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects. Its construction spans 65 acres (26 hectares) with four major nuclear facilities - Pretreatment, Low-Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory - as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities.

The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) is a limited liability corporation created by Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) and AECOM. WTCC is a subcontractor to BNI, the prime contractor, to deliver the construction, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities for the WTP project.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm. **Selected applicant needs to be able and willing to work night shift (5:30pm to 4:00am)** and weekends as needed.

**Role Overview:**

Leads, directs, and trains team members to support WTCC Automation. Develops and maintains the Construction Automation Plan for the life cycle of the project. Develops and directs implementation of construction owned software and processes. Provides comprehensive automation support and coordination to the project and identifies and implements technical innovations that add value and improve project work processes. Performs work that requires the application of a significant range of fundamental technical information systems and technology principles in a variety of contexts while demonstrating strong leadership. As part of normal job duties, employees may be required to be in an on-call status to be able to promptly respond to and address user/customer needs.


+ Leads team members responsible for supporting WTCC Automation initiatives.

+ Fully responsible for the implementation and management of all construction owned software applications including strategizing, planning, requirements definition, acquisition/development, testing, and deployments for WTCC.

+ Assists construction supervision in planning construction methods and procedures.

+ Develops problem resolution guidelines and responds to and identifies problems and expedites corrective action. Takes responsibility for escalation, resolution and documentation of chronic issues.

+ Prepares projections and schedules for manpower, material and equipment requirements.

+ Provides training and support to end user customers in Construction, Field Engineering, Startup, and other functions.

+ Arranges, prepares and conducts meeting, workshops and presentations as required.

+ When performing duties as Construction Automation Lead:

+ Responsible for determining WTCC Automation support.

+ Plans for and assures the implementation of construction owned software changes including preparing requirements, software development, software test planning, and documentation.

+ Leads small teams to evaluate new technologies and techniques that will result in business benefits for the organization.

+ Participates in standards establishment process to assure data consistency with construction owned applications.

+ Participates in the budgeting process.

+ May be required to provide input on employee reviews of assigned subordinate personnel.

+ Promote Bechtel's Zero Accident philosophy in safety and promote other corporate initiatives such as quality and improving Construction Automation communication.

+ Responsible for evaluating COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) Software products with the intent to enhance and/or replace current construction owned software.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor of Science degree in IT or a related subject from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 6 years of related experience.

+ In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of progressive related experience.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) such as TEAMWorks, Bechtel Procurement System (BPS), SETROUTE, etc.

+ Knowledge of projects or functions including engineering, procurement, construction and other business applications.

+ Knowledge of information/data standards, policy and procedures.

+ Excellent skills in oral and written communication.

+ Knowledge of Bechtel standard computer applications.

+ Familiarity with current industry standards and best practices.

+ Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check which includes verification of employment and education. Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Possesses the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.

+ Prior experience on a Department of Energy project.

+ Current or prior WTP/WTCC experience.

+ TEAMWorks Super User Certification

+ Knowledge of WTP specific developed electronic forms and construction software.

+ Knowledge of Bechtel's "Zero Accident" safety program.
