Bechtel is designing, constructing, and commissioning the world's largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington State. The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects. Its construction spans 65 acres (26 hectares) with four major nuclear facilities - Pretreatment, Low-Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory - as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Selected applicant needs to be able and willing to work weekends as needed.

The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) is a limited liability corporation created by Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) and AECOM. WTCC is a subcontractor to BNI, the prime contractor, to deliver the construction, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities for the WTP project.

**Role Overview**

Ensure there is coordination of all documentation so that it is collated, tracked and available for the Startup turnover team in a timely manner, and so that systems documentation is coordinated and turned over between Startup and Plant Operations

Principle responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

+ Coordinate system walk down schedules, assist with creating packages and document punchlist items.

+ Assist with the compilation of weekly reports regarding documentation status for system turnover to Plant Operations and other Startup metrics

+ Verifies data for accuracy and completeness.

+ Compiles and prepares Startup Turnover packages

+ When required, assist with data entry to maintain logs and track documentation.

+ Assembles, copies, and distributes documentation packages; prepares records for microfilming and/or archiving.

+ Monitors and supports contractors, supervision and field Startup engineering to meet project schedules.

+ Assists Startup Engineers employees with standard Bechtel forms and WTP processes.

+ Reviews Engineering and Construction deliverables and monitors quality to ensure that all documents conform to established standards and procedures supporting Startup.

+ May implement Startup test records management program. Maintains files of various historical data.

+ Willingness to take on other duties including as required at Supervisor's Direction

+ Administration of Punchworks in support of Startup

**Basic Qualifications**

+ Bachelor Degree from an accredited university in Engineering or related field and 6 years related experience in startup or construction; in lieu of a formal degree, 12 years of professional experience of increasing responsibility. A minimum of 5 years of experience in startup, construction, or engineering is required.

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Previous experience and knowledge of Bechtel Startup procedures, programs, and processes.

+ Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check which includes verification of employment and education. Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.

+ Previous commercial nuclear/Department of Energy experience.

+ Knowledge of Bechtel's organizational structure, functions, and procedures.

+ Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.

+ Good knowledge of related construction and engineering practices and the economics involved.

+ Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria.

+ Skill in oral and written communication.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Possess the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.

+ Previous experience as a Bechtel Startup (Commissioning) Engineer scheduling and performing system checkout and operation.
