Retail Development Manager
**General Description**
The primary function of the Retail Development Manager is to align the Retail/Channel Sales Team with the priorities of the key National Retail Accounts (Costco, Target, WMT, etc.). The RDM will plan material for product launches, develop sell-thru strategies, transfer knowledge of key messages, and share market intelligence. Conduct store level analytics on performance based on key metrics such as labor, assortment and merchandising to identify key insights to help improve sales The RDM will also drive business results by influencing retail strategy, retail field sales performance management and integrated retail insights through a constant focus on the channel field team activities and marketplace. Accountabilities include Insights development, business planning, translating insights into action and supporting key strategic initiatives and optimizing field sales team's efficiency.
**Necessary Skills / Attributes**
* Acts as the liaison between the field and the customer (retailers) in assisting with product training, field activities and driving awareness on upcoming changes such as planogram refreshes, promotions, etc.
* Will act (with appropriate sales & marketing personnel) as the primary contact and trainer for critical training programs with partners (internal/external)
* Engage with internal and external Learning & Development teams to create best in class training and set strategic "Go to Market" direction
* Actively work with field sales team on account planning process including account segmentation analysis, establishment of specific account objectives and appropriate routing/coverage to ensure the needs of key targeted accounts are met
* Conducts collaborative business planning sessions with Channel Sales leadership
* Establishes visit expectations of the FSM based on key account initiatives
* Will lead store/regional level performance analysis to identify areas of opportunities and work with account teams to drive change
* Weekly/monthly reporting on key reports such as National Retail sales summary, Launch sales tracking and other ad hoc reporting
* Provides launch reports for Samsung, and occasionally competitive, launches utilizing market sensing from FSM team and FSM+ database Requirement:
* Must have accredited College degree
* Advanced Excel skills and Strong Presentation skills
* Proven experience and success leading retail sales & marketing initiatives
* Extensive history in product training including; leadership and delivery
* Experience in Retail and Consumer Electronics ( 5-10 Years) Physical/ Mental Demands: Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between 50% - 95% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
