Description
**Social Service Specialist 3 - Division of Licensed Resources/Child Protective Services Investigator**
Children's Administration and the Division of Licensed Resources (DLR) has an opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and culturally competent DLR/CPS Investigator which can be located in Everett, Smokey Point or Mount Vernon.
**Some of what you'll be doing:**
* Conduct child abuse and neglect investigations in licensed and unlicensed facilities providing care for children
* Meet all casework management directives required by law, policy, and other mandates
* Adhere to Solution-Based Casework (SBC) model
* Interview adults identified as subjects or witnesses
* Provide information to providers to support them through the investigative process
* Coordinate investigations with law enforcement, medical and community professionals, and other agencies as appropriate
* Gather evidence to determine findings of abuse or neglect; Investigations may involve inspections of physical facilities or grounds
* Produce comprehensive, written investigative assessments
* Provide occasional after hours coverage for DLR/CPS investigations
* Conduct investigations of allegations of violations of minimum licensing requirements in foster homes.
* Document all licensing investigation activities in agency database in a timely manner
* Provide Testimony at Administrative Review Hearings
**Who should apply?**
Professionals who meet the requirements below:
One year as a Social Service Specialist 2 **OR**
A Master's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field AND two years of paid social service experience **OR**
A Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field AND three years of paid social service experience
**AND**
One year paid social service experience assessing risk and safety to children and/or providing family focused practice services centered around the child (strengthening and preserving family units).
A two year Master's degree in one of the above fields that included a practicum will be substituted for one year of paid social service experience.
Degrees must be obtained from an accredited institution.
